M NEELAKANDAN NAIR ( M N NAIR)

Neelakandan Nair popularly known as M N Nair was born on 1060 makaram 11 at Pullinthanam, Kumarakom to Kochanujan Yajamanan and Shakthiyamma of Manimala house, he was their 5th child, he finished his higher studies at mangalore and trichy. Apart from being a  brilliant Orater and a teacher he was eminent social reformer.

He was a member of Sreemoolam Praja Sabha, the first popularly elected legislature in the history of India. A well-known social reformer, orator and community leader, he worked alongside Mannathu Padmanabhan to establish the Nair Service Society. The printing press he started in Alappuzha, Raja Kesavadas Press (RK Press) was moved to Ettumanoor in 1956. This was the first printing press in Ettumanoor. Children of Janaki Amma and MN Nair are Gopinathan Nair, Sharada, Sukumaran Nair, Leela and Mohanan. MN Nair passed away at a young age, leaving behind much to be accomplished.
